Viewing Day for the Blind
During his Minerality exposition in October of 2005 in galleria “De Vrijplaats”, Rob Schrama organises “Viewing Days for the Blind”, especially meant for the blind. The exposition space is set up in such a way that the blind can experience his wall-relief paintings as best as possible. There are stairs available, making it possible to touch the pieces of art from top to bottom, but only with the compulsory latex gloves!
For the blind a landscape will open full of accents, corners, holes and obstacles. Not one square centimetre feels the same. The exploration of paintings is a true feast for their sense of touch. In a “Workshop Minerality”, the blind will then work on making their own relief paintings.
